I suppose his acting ability and the fact that he has a beard at all trumps that, but he is truly not that good a representation.
I do agree, he's great in that role! These are illustrations from well before the tv show came out, so I was going by the descriptions given... otherwise, I'm sure his look would sneak in (it's hard not to be influenced by an established character)
